How the media planning savings calculator works

The calculator distributes the monthly working days across three operational areas — media planning, reporting and financial — and applies an experience-based automation rate to each: the share of the work the ecosystem takes on. The freed hours, combined with team size and hourly rate, give the financial equivalent. The values are practice-based model figures from over 15 years of media planning, conservatively rounded and to be understood as an estimate — not a guarantee.

Example calculation

With an average of 40 hours freed per month per employee, a team of 10 employees at an hourly rate of €60 yields: 40 h × 10 × €60 = €24,000 per month, i.e. around €288,000 per year. That equals 600 person-days of additional capacity for strategy, consulting and negotiations.

It is based on your team size and how the monthly working days split across three operational areas: media planning, reporting and financial. The result is shown in hours — and as a financial equivalent per month and year.
On average, users free up around 40 hours per month per employee — that’s 26% of the operational resources in media planning. The biggest savings arise in planning (from 19% to 12% of working time), buying (from 8% to 3%), optimisation (from 12% to 4%) and reporting (from 15% to 11%).
The biggest lever is eliminating duplicate work. Data is created once and is available across the entire process chain — for planning, booking, reporting and finance.
